Frequently Asked Questions about Analyst Conferences

How do I attend an analyst conference?

The company decides how you can attend a conference. Until about 2002 conferences were held by telephone. Since then broadcasting them on the internet has become popular, and most larger companies allow both methods of access. To ask a question you must use the telephone.

Check the investor relations web page of the company you are intested in to find out the conference date and time. This should also given you information on how to access the conference by telephone. The numbers are almost always toll-free; in many cases it helps to know the access code for the conference, which is available in press releases announcing the conference.

For web access most companies put up a button on the investor relations page, or on a page reached by an "events" link. Most conferences work with Windows Media Player; many also work with the RealNetworks player; and a few require Apple QuickTime. Any broadband connection should work. Phone modems work to some extent, depending on the actual connection speed.
